- Hello, I'm Ben O'Donnell a Service Designer from Belfast, Northern Ireland, working on digital and physical products, services and experiences. I believe in human-centred design, and that great products and services come from engaging directly with end users.

Brands talk about platforms, channels and touchpoints, customers don't. Customers have needs and they expect brands to answer them. They don't forgive a complicated returns process, a disconnected app or a member of staff having a bad day. My aim is to understand the customer expectations and do everything possible to exceed them, and in doing so, create products and services that are actually wanted and needed.

My Story

Over the years I've been creating functional, delightful and valuable experiences that leave a positive impact on people and businesses. Currently I’m a UX designer contracting at Fathom in Belfast, Northern Ireland.

Previously, a Service Designer at Wunderman Thompson, I worked with national and global brands to uncover the customer experience within various products and services. This involved scoping, running and presenting qualitive research. Facilitating workshops with both clients and customers, synthesizing insights into opportunity areas as well as developing design concepts and solutions.

I've gained a wealth of knowledge and expertise by working on a wide variety of projects for clients and businesses that include Walmart, Rolex, Nespresso, Selfridges, TUI, BT, EE, Shell, Centrica, HSBC, British Gas and more.
